If you know me you probably know that I LOVE Zao's music for many years
now. They are one of the few bands that had a very deep influence on my musical
style many years ago.
This week I received their third album released through Broken Circles
Records on vinyl. "Self Titled" is the third one that has been
re-released by them. If you like vinyls check this guy out: http://brokencircles.com

Production (even on CD) is awesome and there's no reason to complain about
the vinyl either. Although the layout is amazing, Broken Circles did an awesome
job too.
From a musical point of view this might be Zao's most advanced record to
date. And keeping in mind that this is from the year 2000 makes it even more
respectable. Unfortunately this album probably marks the point where Zao got
way deeper into the negative side of lyrics. No longer the kind of encouraging,
positive, (yet not preaching) lyrics as with the first records. This trend got
even stronger over the years (they are still active...). Still I love their music, but theres a grain of salt to it.
